Position Summary:
The Junior IT Administrator will be working on a diverse set of issues and projects. They will be focused on assisting in managing our IT systems, infrastructure, and user support. In this role, you will work closely with senior IT professionals and our Service Department to ensure the smooth operation of our technology environment and contribute to enhancing our overall IT capabilities. We are seeking applicants that currently possess either their AZ900 certification or their MS900 certification, applicants without these certifications are not eligible for this position.
 
Within the first 45 days you will be expected to:
    • Learn Data-Tech’s mission, core values, policies, services and meet internal team members learning how their role interacts with each department.
    • Learn and become comfortable with the technologies & tools utilized with clients including the Microsoft Platform, M365 security, Microsoft Intune, Azure AD (Active Directory), Azure network, Azure architecture, etc.
    • Within 1 week, start working on client environments and learn how to best utilize our current tools, procedures and familiarize yourself with Data-Tech’s processes and procedures.
    • Build relationships and trust with clients by asking questions, stepping in to resolve an unrelated issue and valuing the individuals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Junior Modern IT Administrator, you will work closely with our internal team and clients to provide exceptional IT support and services. Your responsibilities will include:
    • Assisting with internal and client workstations, cloud environments, file servers, and networking equipment.
    • Providing technical assistance to end-users through in-person, telephone, and remote communication.
    • Addressing user inquiries related to computer activities, software usage, printing, email, and operating systems.
    • Learning and becoming proficient with technologies such as the Microsoft Platform, M365 security, Microsoft Intune, Azure AD, and more.
    • Building relationships with clients, actively engaging with their needs, and providing efficient technical support.
    • Demonstrating a strong commitment to ethical practices, security, and data protection.
    • Participating in continuous learning, staying up to date with industry trends, and earning certifications.

    • Must be able to pass a 7-year criminal background check.
 
Education and Experience:
    • 3+ total years of technical experience required; working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) required.
    • 1+ years demonstrated experience working with the Microsoft Platform at an entry to intermediate level required.
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree preferred.
    • MS-900 or AZ-900 certification required.
    • Understanding of cyber security measures, such as multi-factor authentication, Cloud App security, end point protections, Azure Active Directory and other remote management required.
    • Basic understanding of network fundamentals (routing, wired and wireless network) required.
    • Basic understanding of SMTP, DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP protocols.
 
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Must possess the mobility to work in a standard office setting (on site or off), and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, concentration to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and/ or over the telephone.  Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods of time.  Must be able to drive a motorized vehicle.
