Job Position Bench Technician

Job Description
The Bench Technician works within the Service Department and is responsible for the Desktop Engineering function for Data-Tech customers in a physical network and/or hosted solutions environment. This position focuses on Data-Tech branded desktop hardware, imaging, image management, MDT build and maintenance, and software installations. They will troubleshoot hardware systems and application incidents to provide maximum availability and optimal Mean Time to Repair (MTTR). They will provide the Support Center with documentation, as necessary, to understand and support our clients..
Skill Requirments
    • Experience with WDS (Windows Deployment Services).
    • Experience in basic server hardware builds and remediation.
    • Extensive experience with MDT (Microsoft Deployment Toolkit)
    • Extensive experience with PC Imaging
    • Experience with Hyper-V virtualization
    • Experience using backup and recovery technologies
    • Experience with Microsoft O365  
    • Experience with OS system recovery
    • Ability to resolve research root cause problems with systems and software.
    • Ability to repair and recover from hardware or software failures
    • Knowledge of USMT, Windows PE, UEFI/GPT support, partitioning, PXE, and task sequences.
    • Experience with Active directory account creation and admin functions
    • Experience with DHCP server/client
    • Experience in Microsoft RDS environments
    • Understanding of network protocols and network troubleshooting techniques
 
Experience in the following technologies is a plus:
    • Microsoft –AD/DNS/DHCP/GPO/RDS
    • Kaseya
    • Sonic Wall/Sophos
    • Sophos endpoint security
 
 
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma and 4 years of experience in general computer installation, maintenance/ repair, and off site field work
Associates Degree and 1 year of experience in general computer installation, maintenance/ repair, and off site field work
 
 
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Must possess the mobility to work in a standard office setting (on site or off), and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, concentration to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and/ or over the telephone.  Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods of time.  Must be able to drive a motorized vehicle.
